Daniel Calderon, High School Language Arts

Daniel started his undergraduate career as a cinema-television production major at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He transferred to Boise State in 2012 and graduated Mangna Cum Laude with a degree in English Education and a minor in Philosophy. During his time at Boise State he: worked at the Boise State Writing Center, presented his research at an international research conference, served as an assistant editor for the Idaho Review, and won the President’s Writing Award for fiction in 2015.

Daniel spent a year student-­teaching at Sage International before transitioning into a full-­time position. On his free time, Daniel enjoys reading, writing, making short films, podcasting, and playing video games. Daniel currently teaches 9th grade English, creative writing, and filmmaking.
