Sage School Lottery Today

The Sage International School of Boise lottery is today and open to the public. The lottery will be conducted today at 12:00 at the Idaho Water Center, 322 E. Front St.,Suite 236. Results will be posted on our website tomorrow March 2, 2010.

Process of Enrollment

All potential students wishing to enroll in Sage School must complete an enrollment application. Applications can be mailed to the address provided on the application or submitted electronically. Applications must be received by Sage International School by February 26, 2010, by 5:00 pm to be eligible for the March 1, 2010 (12:00 pm) lottery drawing. Applications received after the deadline will be added to the bottom of the final selection list for the appropriate grade.

Admission Preferences for Initial Enrollment

If the initial capacity of Sage International School is insufficient to enroll all prospective students, a
lottery shall be utilized to determine which prospective students will be admitted to Sage International
School. Sage International School will follow Idaho Code Section 33-502 (j). Prospective students will
be placed in priority groups as follows:

First Priority: The first priority group of Sage International School will include the children of full-time
employees, children of the Founders (provided that this admission preference shall be limited to not
more than ten percent (10%) of the initial capacity of Sage International School).

Second Priority: The second priority group is siblings of pupils already selected by the lottery.

Third Priority: The third priority group is students who reside in the primary attendance area of Sage
International School..

Fourth Priority: The fourth priority group includes students who reside outside of the primary
attendance area of Sage International School.
Offers of enrollment

In order to be fair to all families of students on the waiting list and in order to fill class rosters in a timely manner, offers of enrollment must be accepted within 48 hrs. Offers of enrollment may be made via e-mail, telephone or residential mail. Acceptance must be made within 48 hours of when the offer is made or of the date the offer was delivered, as verified by the U.S. postal Service. If no response is received within 48 hours, the child’s name will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list.

Town Hall Meeting February 21, 2010

Sage International School of Boise will be holding a town hall meeting on Sunday, February 21 , 2010 from 5:00-6:00PM at the Presbyterian Church (Lindsey Hall), corner of 9th and State Street. Please enter the building through the double doors that face 9th street.

Sage Adopts 4-Day School Calendar

Sage International School has adopted a Monday-Thursday school week. The school hours will be approximately 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The 2010-2011 calendar will be August 16, 2010 to June 2, 2011. We are working on an extensive partnership and collaboration with the Treasure Valley YMCA to further support our educational philosophy and provide support for families who need after school and Friday activities. This extension of the school schedule will be a tuition-based program with hours approximately from 4:00-6:00 pm M-TH and all day on Fridays. Sage will also be working with parents for additional alternatives for the 4-day week calendar. More detailed information will be provided as it becomes available.

Sage School Award Education Grant

Sage International School of Boise has been awarded a 3-year Planning and Implementation Grant by the Idaho Department of Education’s Public Charter Schools Program for $686,369. This grant is supported by a federal program to increase the number of high quality charter schools across the U.S. by providing funding for planning and implementation, evaluation and dissemination. The award to Sage International provides funding for training staff and implementing our planned participation in the International Baccalaureate Program. The award also provides funding for the purchase of, and training in, a number of different technologies that will provide a 21st century school learning environment. Sage International will have the best possible support for opening in Fall 2010 thanks to this award!

School Location

Currently, Sage International School is working through the details of a lease on a building that is located at 457 Parkcenter Blvd. The building sits next to the Parkcenter Mall and will be remodeled to accommodate our school. We will update on the website any new information regarding the progress of the building.
